All SFMS mediators have been trained to the highest standards available within the industry and are required to undertake annual continued professional development training to ensure that their knowledge remains up to date. All our mediators are FMCA qualified, which is the standard required by the government to be able to deliver government funded mediation. All of our mediators are qualified to provide child inclusive mediation, as required by the Ministry of Justice and the Family Mediation Council.
We have two “in house” lawyers who provide support to the mediation team and who are on hand to provide general legal information should it be appropriate within a case. We are unable to provide mediating clients with legal advice, but we are able to provide information and assistance which will help flag up where individual legal advice may be helpful or necessary.
We have a dedicated administration team who are available to you from 9AM until 5PM Monday to Friday. They will help with your initial enquiry and any logistical issues you have as your case progresses. If they are unable to answer your query personally, they will direct you to someone who can. They will be your contact point with the service.
SFMS has multiple offices across Surrey with the aim of providing a local service to as many people and places as possible. We will try and fit you in at a time and place that is as convenient as possible for you.
Separation and Divorce has many consequences which can be very difficult to deal with. The effects will often need to be dealt with and managed for years. Our current staff has more than 80 years of combined experience and knowledge regarding these issues and as a charity our goal is to provide people going through a difficult time with as much practical assistance as possible. Unfortunately we don’t have a magic wand that can make all problems go away, but we will do our best to give you the best map available for you to navigate your way through this difficult time.
